DESCRIPTION:The FARM 1780’s next round of laying hens will hatch on August 7th. And we have an exciting opportunity for a few families to care for these chicks with our first-ever rent-a-chick program.  Our program includes 3-week-old chicks and all of the supplies that you need to care for them for two weeks.  This is a great opportunity for anyone who is thinking about getting chickens or even those who can’t have chickens because of HOA rules (these will remain in a container that you keep in your home or garage).  When you return your chicks & supplies\, you’ll get a certificate for a dozen eggs to use when your chicks start laying. \nPick-up: Saturday\, August 26th\, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. \nEach family will receive: \n\n3 chicks (about 3-weeks old)\nA box for the chicks to live in\nFeeders\, Waterers\, and Feed for 2-weeks\nHeat Lamp\nInstructions for care\nA certificate for a dozen eggs when your chicks start lay in the Spring\n\nAt the end of two weeks\, you will return your chicks and equipment to The FARM. \nDrop-off: Saturday\, September 9th\, 1:00 pm – 3:00 p.m. Chicks can only be returned during this window.  If you cannot drop-off during this time\, please do not reserve them \n$25 per family (at pick-up you will be asked to leave a credit card on file.  If you do not return your chicks for equipment\, we will charge the card on file an additional $25).

The FARM is hosting a free farmers market on Saturday with several vendors\, local farmers\, and artisans on-site all day long. Children & adults will be able to interact with the The FARMstand free-range chickens and feed treats (for an extra fee).   Buy feed at The FARMstand (while supplies last). \nLive Music from 12 – 3!  \nParticipating Artisans \n\nMarlo Wright with Peace Haven Pottery Marlo will have her handcrafted items available for purchase.\nLakeside Soap Company – offering handcrafted body products including balms\, bath bombs\, salts\, soaps\, and gift sets.  Also offering a make-your-own bath bomb activity!\nArt by Caroline Whissenant\nDown Home Creatives – handcrafts and barn quilts\nBeck and Bub – Oyster Shell Art & Handmade jewelry from semi-precious stones.\nC Jewels Co. provides hand-sculpted\, polymer clay earrings that are cultivated to deliver joy and confidence. Each pair is assembled by Cassie Brueck in Gilbert\, SC. \nHistorical Agricultural Education and Re-enactments by Military Timeline Impressions\n\nTimed Activities & Vendors \n11 a.m. Yoga in the blueberry field with Caroline Whisennant who finds beauty in the yoga flow\, grounding in mindful movement and conscious breath. Class is for all ages and all levels of yoga.  Bring your own mat and water bottle. Class is free but requires advanced RSVP (limited to 35 people). \n \n12 – 3 p.m. Live Music by Mandy Addy and Poppy K \n \nFeed S’mores and Loca & get a picture!  The fancy chickens (including the 5 new babies) might even make an appearance!  $5 per child – available at 10:30\, 11\, 11:30\, 12\, 12:30\, 1\, 1:30\, 2 and 2:30 (max of 4 children per slot) – buy tickets at The FARMstand. \nAll-Day Activities & Vendors \n\nThe FARMstand will have fresh\, local produce\, eggs\, and merchandise available\, information about FARM Memberships\, and more details about upcoming events on The FARM.\nCrazy Chic Heritage Farm – purchase Woodland Raised Pork\, Pasture Poultry\, Grass-Fed Beef\, and learn more about available meet CSA memberships\n“Treasure Hunt” activity where children and adults can learn about soil by selecting random quiz questions and then locating the answer to earn a prize. As a wife\, artist\, and mother\, she comes to her mat to be both centered and inspired.  Her intention is to share the same with you in every class.  Caroline came to yoga to find ease in pregnancy. It became a way to care for her mind and body as she grew her young family. In 2019\, Caroline began practicing and training under the lovely folks at Pink Lotus Yoga Center in Lexington.  She earned her 200-hour yoga teacher training (RYT200) in June 2020. \nClass is for all ages and all levels of yoga.  Bring your own mat and water bottle.

SUMMARY:Hen's Night Out - Cheese Plates & Wine

DESCRIPTION:We’re adding to the flock at The FARM and this is your chance for the kiddos to enjoy interacting with the baby chicks while capturing these priceless moments.  Gentleman Farmer\, Brett Flashnick\, is also a professional photographer and visual storyteller with more than twenty-one years of experience working with some of the largest organizations in the world. \nEach 5-minute session includes live interaction with baby chicks.  You will receive two to three digital photos within two weeks of your photo session.  Each session includes up to four children.  If you need a session with additional children\, please book two back-to-back sessions.  This policy is for the safety and health of baby chicks. \nShould you arrive late to your session\, you may receive fewer photos or forfeit your spot.  We cannot guarantee a session for late arrivals. \nRain plan: photos will be taken inside of the farmhouse. \nApril 19th is a collaborative planning day for Lexington One. Brian Nelson is the owner of Keg Cowboy on Lexington’s Main Street.
