SUMMARY:The Farmer's Table - Beer Dinner
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the first in a new Farm to Table dinner series at The FARM 1780 – The Farmer’s Table.  The Farmer’s Table dinners are intimate\, fully-plated meals with a menu made up of ingredients that are sourced directly from The FARM 1780 the week of the dinner.  At least 80% of the food items you will enjoy are grown right here where you’ll be dining. \nAdditionally\, each course will be paired with alcoholic drinks.  In some cases\, the dish was created specifically to complement the drink. \nOur first dinner will be a beer dinner held on Friday\, November 4th with Brian Nelson of Keg Cowboy.  The meal will consist of four plated courses and each course will be paired with a different beer.   \nBeverages at 6 pm and Seating at 6:30 pm  \nMenu:  \n1st course: “Bacon & An Egg”   \nPork Belly\, The FARM 1780 Pickled Egg\, The FARM 1780 Root Vegetable Puree \n2nd course: Roasted Squash Soup  \nThe FARM 1780 butternut squash and dutch fork pumpkin\, local honey\, goat cheese  \n3rd course: Coq Au Vin  \nThe FARM 1780 chickens\, pearl onions\, bacon lardons\, mushrooms  \nDessert: Chef hasn’t decided if you’re going to be eating or drinking your dessert.  We’ll let you know when he sobers up.  \nEach course is appropriately paired with a beer selection \nBrian Nelson is the owner of Keg Cowboy on Lexington’s Main Street. He cooked for 17 years in Charleston restaurants including Rue De Jean and Fat Hen before moving his family to Lexington in 2010.  He opened his first restaurant\, Park Circle Grill in North Charleston\, at the age of 28. \nEach table seats 8 people.  If you want to be seated together\, please purchase all 8 tickets together.  Otherwise\, seating is on a first-come\, first-serve basis. Conversely\, you may email us at events@thefarm1780.com if you would like us to combine your reservations to ensure seating together (based on availability).  \nPlease read before purchasing tickets:  \n\nDue to the nature of this event\, we cannot accommodate any dietary restrictions or allergies.  The menu is subject to change at any time due to farming and crop operations and certain ingredients may be swapped at the last minute as a result. \nThis is a 21+ only event\nTickets are transferable\, but not refundable. SUMMARY:2022 Pumpkin Shoot at The FARM 1780
DESCRIPTION:What in the heck is a pumpkin shoot? \nIt’s similar to a Turkey Shoot – a friendly shooting competition where the prize is typically food (a turkey\, bundle of meat\, etc…). For our pumpkin shoot\, the prizes will be gift certificates to The FARM 1780 that can be used to purchase food from our produce stand or attend ticketed events hosted by The FARM. Prizes are as follows: \n1st place $50 gift certificate to The FARM\, 2nd place $30 Gift Certificate to The FARM\, 3rd place $17 Gift Certificate to The FARM.  \n  \nWhy are y’all having a pumpkin shoot? \nGrowing up around The FARM\, Brett (aka Farmer Flash) always looked forward to using the family’s Halloween pumpkins for target practice. It’s always fun to have a different type of target. This year we have an extra 25 pumpkins that didn’t find their home for Halloween\, so we are turning them into 25 chances to see if you shoot like Buffalo Bill or Annie Oakley. It’s also a great way to get to know your neighbors and community. \nOk\, I’m interested. How does it work? \nYou start by purchasing a pumpkin from the list below.  Every purchase comes with an NRA B-8 scale target\, a time slot\, use of Farmer Flash’s Scoped Thompson Center 10/22 pattern .22 rifle with a locally made Innovative Arms suppressor\, and 15 shots. You will arrive at The FARMstand 5 minutes before your allotted time and Farmer Flash will take you up to his shooting range where he will give a safety briefing and instructions on how the rifle operates. After that\, you have the remainder of your allotted time to take 15 shots on the target from a distance of 50 ft (16.67 yds) either standing\, sitting\, kneeling\, or prone. Once finished your target will be scored. All ties will be decided by the number of shots in the “F” ring (F-Ring stands for FARM ring\, and replaces the traditional X-ring because\, of course\, we want to have a little fun with this!) If there is a tie at this stage the winner will be determined by the shooter who took the least amount of time to complete their target. \nEach ticket includes the ability for a maximum of TWO observers to accompany the participant.  Participants must be at least 8 years of age to shoot.  All participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian over the age of 18. \nWhen is it? \nSunday\, November 20th from 11 am – 4 pm. \nWhere is it?\nThe FARM 1780 \n1127 Corley Mill Road \nLexington\, SC 29072
